Rawalpindi Ring Road to be Inaugurated on 14th August 2024
Rawalpindi Ring Road inauguration is to be done on 14th August 2024, says Commissioner Rawalpindi. One of the most sought-after projects in Rawalpindi in the year 2023-2024 is Ring Road, which is highly anticipated by investors, real estate consultants as well as housing societies. Rawalpindi Ring Road is aimed to boost connectivity and provide improved access to far-off areas of the city.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Liaquat Ali Chatta, revealed the Rawalpindi Ring Road inauguration date last week. He also shed light on some useful insights related to the Rawalpindi Ring Road; first, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and National Logistics Cell (NLC) have carried out almost 18% of development work successfully.

Furthermore, the commissioner stated that the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) will be assigned plantations on both sides of Rawalpindi Ring Road. Furthermore, some insights on the completion date were also shared, according to the commissioner; Rawalpindi Ring Road will be completed by 31st July 2024. It is a large-scale project that consists of 5 interchanges, 2 bridges, 6 canals, a Railway Bridge, 15 subways, and 11 overpasses.
Rawalpindi Ring Road is a 6-lane highway, starting from Baanth and extending until Chakri Interchange on the M-2 Motorway. The development of Ring Road started in the last quarter of 2023. The project has kicked off formally, after multiple delays in the past. The total length of Rawalpindi Ring Road is 64 kilometers, the currently developing patch is 38 kilometers, and further extension will be developed in Phase 2.

The government, Commissioner Rawalpindi, Chief Minister Punjab, and development firms are highly committed to developing this project in the proposed period. It is yet to be seen if the development will be completed by 31st July and the inauguration is done on 14th August. If so, it will be one of the fastest-developed projects in Pakistan.
