After about a decade long pause, Capital Development Authority has floated the tender for construction of the most awaited Margalla Avenue. The project was stalled for past many years only due to the ongoing litigation, which was settled out of court between the previous contractor and CDA a few weeks back. Therefore, CDA has once again taken up the task to resume construction work on Margalla Avenue from Sector D-12 up to GT Road.
If you are aware of Rawalpindi Ring Road Project, you might already know that Margalla Avenue is Islamabad’s part of the complete ring road plan that will extend up to Bhara Kahu and beyond towards Rawat.
Here is the location of Margalla Avenue on Ring Road Map:
The Government is focusing on resuming stalled development projects and undertaking mega development projects that will benefit the twin cities by reducing traffic load and create loads of job opportunities by establishing new industries and related construction work. Therefore, Capital Development Authority has performed really well in the past 2 years or so, and same development pace is expected to continue for the next 3 years at least till Government’s tenure.
Coming back to the Tender floated by CDA, pls find attached the tender notice ad below:
Bids will be received on 25th March 2021 in Roads Directorate (North), Room no. 3, Old Naval Headquarter, G-6 Markaz, Melody Market Islamabad at 11:30 AM. The technical bids will be opened on same days while price bids will be opened after evaluation of technical bids by the concerned authority.
This is a great news for the real estate investors, especially those who have invested in C sectors of Islamabad, i.e. C-14, C-15 and C-16, as well as D-13, D-14, D-17 and B-17. This direct route from D-12 to D-17 will substantially reduce travel time to Sector D-17 and B-17 from D-12, and hence jack up property prices in these areas.
