Prime Minister Imran Khan Performed Groundbreaking of Rawalpindi Ring Road Project
The most awaited Rawalpindi Ring Road project is finally inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan. The Prime Minister performed the groundbreaking ceremony of Ring Road on Saturday, March 19th, 2022.
Now that the inauguration is done, the work on the project will start properly. A few days back, Rawalpindi Development Authority awarded the project to FWO, after it being the only firm to submit the bid. According to RDA, FWO’s proposal included the lowest cost for the project, even lower than the estimated costs by the government.
According to details, the Ring Road project has the following specifications:
- The Road is 38.3 kilometers long from Baanth (N-5) to Thalian (M-2).
- Rawalpindi Ring Road comprises 6 lanes for smooth traffic flow.
- Four interchanges are planned on Ring Road namely Baanth-Chak Beli Khan Road, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian.
Rawalpindi Ring Road project will not only regularize the traffic flow in Rawalpindi and Islamabad but also promote economic activities and create job opportunities.
