CDA is reported to have imposed additional development charges of PKR 5.00 Lac on the unfortunate allottees of sector I-15 Islamabad who have been waiting for a decade for development of this miserable sector.
According to news reports, CDA has had to change layout design plan and infrastructure of Sector I-15 many a time in the past which has delayed the development of this sector resulting in escalation of development cost.
Sector I-15 was launched in 2005, and officially inaugurated by PM Yousuf Raza Gillani. Initially, 5600 residential plots of 5 and 8 marla sizes, and 8000 flats were sold to general public. Later on, due to some design changes and cost escalation, CDA announced policy to allot residential plots in lieu of flats in sector i-15 or refund paid amount to the allottees of flats. CDA managed to refund money to about 4000 allottees, while remaining 4000 were given 5 marla residential plots in lieu of their flats.
According to news reports, there is not a single penny allocated for the development of sector I-15 in the current budget of CDA. The authority has taken revised cost estimation already which is more than 4 billion rupees, and about 700 million rupees had to be allocated to initiate development work this year in sector i-15 but again the project seems to have been delayed for another year.
