Rainwater Dam to be Constructed at New Islamabad Airport

Civil Aviation Authority has decided to build a rainwater dam in order to meet water requirement at New Islamabad International Airport.

According to sources, Federal Investigation Agency had already pinpointed this issue in their investigative report that no arrangement has been made for water supply to the airport.

Underground water is not available at the site of the airport even after boring down to 1000 feet, therefore the relevant authorities have proposed to store rain water for water supply to the airport.

This rainwater dam, named as Ramma Dam is being constructed by CAA with assistance from Small Dams Organization of Islamabad. According to relevant authorities, this dam will have sufficient storage of rainwater to meet water requirement at new Islamabad International Airport.
