Speedy Completion of Rawalpindi Ring Road

The most awaited Rawalpindi Ring Road project has officially started, and developers are committed to completing it timely. In a recent visit to the site of RRR late at night, the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed the authorities to complete the project timely and deliver it by September 2024. The Chief Minister visited the site of Rawalpindi Ring Road late at night to inspect the ongoing development and land leveling work; there he expressed his interest in completing Rawalpindi Ring Road on time.

Furthermore, he also directed the officials of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to ensure a high standard of development of RRR and complete the project in time, so that it can be made operational as soon as possible. Furthermore, the caretaker Chief Minister also ordered that additional labor should be deployed to accelerate the pace of work on Rawalpindi Ring Road. Moreover, he directed NESPAK, the design consultant, to expedite the work of the project plan and design work.

He also advised the developers to increase the number of dumpers to increase the speed of land leveling. Furthermore, he said that he would personally supervise the project from start to finish and would not let go of any misconduct by the authorities. In addition, Naqvi also visited the FWO Camp Office, established on Adyala Road near Rudn Enclave Rawalpindi where he explored different matters of the ongoing project.

The first phase of Rawalpindi Ring Road is 38.8 Kilometers long and features 5 interchanges at different places. It starts from Baanth on G.T Road near Rawat and ends at Chakri Interchange, connecting with the M-2 Lahore Islamabad Motorway. Ring Road will introduce an additional route for people who travel from far-off areas to Islamabad and Rawalpindi, reducing intercity traffic.
