RDA Takes Action against 5 Illegal Housing Societies in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is the regulatory body for housing projects in Rawalpindi District. Recently, the RDA announced a crackdown on illegal housing projects that do not have a duly approved NOC from the authority. To everyone’s surprise, RDA took action against some of the biggest names in the housing sector such as Blue World City and Capital Smart City. The operation continues as the authority is taking steps to stop the illegal housing projects from development.
Recently, RDA again carried out an operation against five illegal housing societies and prevented them from carrying on any developments. Furthermore, FIRs have also been lodged against the owners of these projects. As per the RDA officials, the owners of these projects were selling plots to the public without any green signal from the RDA and NOCs.
This time, RDA has taken action against the following housing projects in Rawalpindi division:
- Theme Park View Housing Society is present on Chountra-Chakbeli Khan Road.
- Cargo Village, present near the new Islamabad International Airport.
- Khan Builders is located in Mouza Chauhan.
- Al Imran Homes, present on main Chakbeli Road.
- Heaven Dave is present in Mouza Misriot.
Furthermore, RDA officials also told the press that the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate (MP and TE) is already taking legal action against the marketing and promotion of illegal housing schemes in the city. RDA spokesperson also clarified that notices were issued to the owners of these housing projects before lodging FIRs against them.
In addition to actions, RDA is also issuing campaigns to warn the public not to invest in housing projects not approved by the authority. Moreover, the marketing, promotions, and advertising of projects without NOCs is also declared illegal.
Aside from this, RDA has directed the owners and sponsors of the housing project to collaborate with the authority to get necessary approvals for advertising and sales of plots.
