The Naya Pakistan Housing Program plans to provide 50 lacs housing units over 5 years. According to PTI’s policy, the low-income population will easily be able to apply for loans as lending bodies cannot require a down payment of more than 30% of the property’s total worth.
This payment will also be divided into three installments to make it even more convenient for low-income buyers. Moreover, further financial aid is also available as the deserving cases also have the opportunity to pay only a 10% down payment of the total worth of the property.
In addition to the low-income population, the government has also developed plans to provide specially designed housing for Persons with Disabilities, assigning 10% of the low-income housing to this specific demographic. The government also has plans in the works to devise housing plans for nurses and teachers in civil services, security, and young armed forces personnel.
The government is also aiming to utilize solar energy as means of electricity and the cost will be included in the total cost of the house. Moreover, community spaces such as libraries and playgrounds will also be constructed and the development of public transportation systems is a priority for this program as well.
