CDA Developed 50 Parks in Islamabad Last Year

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) developed 50 recreational parks for the residents of Islamabad in the year 2021. The idea is to provide recreational activities and bring health benefits to the residents.

The cost of the development of these parks was PKR 341 million. And the parks were developed in sectors where people were living but parks were not available. 

All the sectors that are now retrieved from encroachment are now being developed by the CDA. According to the CDA official, all the services will be provided in these CDA-administered sectors and regular maintenance will be provided.

The sectors where the parks were developed are I-14, I-16, F-10, I-9, I-8, D-12, I-11, G-11, I-10, F-11, G-7, H-8, F-6, Rawal Town, Shahzad Town, Khana Pull, and other locations within the city. These sectors include old and new CDA-approved sectors.

To facilitate healthy activities, cycle tracks were also constructed at 7th Avenue, Faisal Avenue, Zero Point, Serena Chowk, and E-7. These cycle tracks were constructed at the same time as the parks were being constructed in the city.

Alongside the development of new parks, the CDA was also keen on upgrading the old parks and different landscapes. The locations that received up-gradation are the art gallery, F-9 Cricket Ground, Jogging Tracks, Amphitheatre, sitting area in F-9, and construction of a mosque in F-9 Park.

CDA has been working all year to retain the status of Green Islamabad by ensuring that new plants are also installed in the city. CDA has the vision of maintaining the green status of the city.
