CDA to Construct 7.8 Km Bhara Kahu Bypass
Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to address the issue of traffic jams in Bara Kahu, with the construction of a 7.8 km long Bhara Kahu bypass to resolve the issue of traffic in the region.
Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is going to be responsible for carrying out the construction of this bypass. CDA will supervise and report on the project and all the details will be shared by the civic agency.
Surroundings of Bhara Kahu have seen a surge in the population over the years but the road congestion was not addressed along the way. Moreover, the increasing tourism also increased the flow of traffic over a road running across and has brought more problems.
People are also forced to use private vehicles for transport because of lack of any decent public transport. This has increased traffic flow, especially during rush hours in the morning and evening.
All these are the contributing factors to this issue and the CDA has taken the initiative to control the traffic in Bara Kahu. This bypass project was proposed by the previous government but due to some reasons, it was never initiated.
Tourists who are willing to visit Murree or Muzaffarabad usually face traffic congestion issues on weekends at this location. This traffic jam can be kilometers long resulting in severe traffic roadblocks in Bara Kahu.
The Bhara Kahu bypass project was recently brought to light by a member of the current government representatives belonging to this area. CDA will ensure that the completion of this project is done well within time.
