Work on Bhara Kahu Bypass to Start Soon

CDA approves the construction of Bhara Kahu Bypass. At a public meeting for the much-anticipated Bara Kahu Bypass. Ali Nawaz Awan, Special Assistant to the PM, disclosed construction news.

He further stated that the project is likely to finish within two years. Frontier Works Organization (FWO) will construct one part of this project.

Most Awaited Project

By far, this is one of the most awaited bypasses that would be creating huge differences for commuters going to Murree and adjacent areas. According to resources, the Bypass area in Bhara Kahu will be approximately 7.4 km long.

Bhara Kahu road is the main route to reach Murree, and it is mostly busy. It is home to markets and heavy traffic around the clock. The commuters and tourists face traffic congestion at this point.

With the revised plan and realignment, construction on this project will start soon. The housing societies on this route would greatly benefit from this Bypass.

Benefitting Societies

Green Enclave I, Green Enclave II, Sky Garden, and Bahria Hills would greatly benefit from this Bypass. On the G.T. Roadside, the D-12 and E-10 sectors would become more accessible.
The Bypass starts from Quaid-i-Azam University and extends to Satra Meel. So, it will yield benefits to those crossing the area and moving north.

CDA Official’s Statement

This Bypass will create a new route for visitors coming from Murree and Kashmir side.
An officer of CDA recently stated:
“There is no alternative solution to reduce the growing traffic, from Murree Road near Bhara Kahu, so we are focusing on this bypass road.”

On some parts of the road from Sangjani to D-12, the construction work is already in progress. However, the complete project would complete in two years. The Bhara Kahu Bypass is essential to reduce traffic congestion. It will sufficiently alleviate the suffering of the people living in the surrounding areas.
