Bhara Kahu Bypass Delivery is Delayed, Authorities Failed to Complete Project Timely

Bhara Kahu Bypass delivery is delayed

As per the latest news, Bhara Kahu Bypass delivery is delayed by the development authorities, besides the claims made by government officials as well as Prime Minister Shehbaz Shareef.

Bhara Kahu is a suburban area on the outskirts of Islamabad, Pakistan. The area has experienced significant development in the past few years with a growing population and increased traffic. To cater to the needs of the growing population, the construction of the Bhara Kahu bypass was proposed by the authorities. However, despite the passing of the deadline, Bhara Kahu Bypass delivery is delayed.

Bhara Kahu bypass aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the area, reduce travel time and provide a more efficient route to different areas like Murree, Galyat, Kashmir, and other northern areas. The bypass will connect Murree Road to the Islamabad Expressway, providing an alternative route.

However, despite the significance of the project and special attention by the Prime Minister, the authorities have failed to develop the bypass on time. The construction of the bypass was to be completed in March 2023, and it was to be inaugurated on 23 March 2023.

As per the details, the National Logistics Cell (NLC), which is the contractor of the Bhara Kahu project, has taken the responsibility for slow work. NLC refused to carry out the work in a hurry and aims to follow all the safety and security protocols, therefore, Bhara Kahu Bypass was delayed. Furthermore, officials of NLC also stated that it may take up to 6 more months to complete the development of this project.

However, Chairman CDA is positive that the project will be delivered at the start of June 2023

The delay in the development of the Bhara Kahu bypass has had a significant impact on the daily lives of the people in the area. The current route through Bhara Kahu is narrow and congested, causing long traffic jams during peak hours. This has resulted in increased travel time, fuel consumption, and air pollution.
