Rawal Chowk Flyover Opens for Traffic after Inauguration by Prime Minister

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Shareef inaugurated the Rawal Chowk Flyover project and opened it to the public on 14 August 2022. FWO completes the project and delivers it ahead of time.

According to the latest news, Rawal Chowk Flyover was opened for traffic after its ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by the Prime Minister. This project has been completed with an estimated cost of PKR 1 Billion. Chairman CDA, Amir Ali Ahmed was also present on this occasion and praised CDA and FWO for their efforts and ahead-of-time completion of the project, despite the monsoon season. The development was completed in 100 days record time.

Furthermore, he described the traffic capacity and features of this project like:

  • A Flyover
  • Two Underpasses

Both of these projects can handle large amounts of traffic surging up to 100,000 at a single time. Rawal Chowk Flyover will provide access to and from the following locations:

  • Chak Shehzad
  • Faizabad
  • Seren Chowk and other areas

Underpasses are still under construction and development is being carried out at a fast pace. CDA Chairman assured the Prime Minister that the remaining work on this project will be finished in 25 days, and they will be opened to traffic afterward.

Prime Minister and other attendees were also briefed on the Bhara Kahu Bypass project. Prime Minister urged the authorities to complete it within a time frame of four months. He said that public welfare projects should be introduced on regular basis and existing projects should be completed as soon as possible. Furthermore, delays in the delivery of such projects will not be tolerated by the government.
