Ministry of Commerce Employees Co-Operative Housing Society is a developing housing scheme on Fateh Jang Road near New Islamabad Airport. The initiative of establishing a housing society was taken by retired and serving employees of ministry of commerce in 1987-1988, but actual progress ensued in 2012 after the takeover of management committee by Mr. Rana Ghulam Farid in 2011.

MOCECHS is planned over an area of 4500 kanals of premium land on Fateh Jang Road. Development of phase 1 has been completed which includes block A, block B and Block C, wheres development of phase 2 has recently started which includes Block D and Block E.  The society has obtained NOCs from all relevant government authorities to development currently available land, while more land is being purchased for future extensions of the society.

Ministry of Commerce Housing Scheme is said to be located in Sector E-19 Islamabad. As per the current master plan of Islamabad, there is no sector after “17 series” i.e. E-17 is the last sector of zone 2 Islamabad. But if we consider the location and future extension of this master plan, MOCECHS will definitely fall under sector E-19. Neighboring housing schemes include AWT D-18 Islamabad, PAF Tarnol Housing Scheme and PECHS Islamabad.

As you can see on the map, the society is marked with red boundary. That is actually the developed part of the society, while there is much more land available with the society that is still non-developed. The entrance gate of the society is on Fateh Jang Road, and a double road leads up to developed part of the society.

Ministry of Commerce Housing Scheme offers 5 marla, 10 marla and 1 kanal residential plots. 5 marla plot size is 25×45, 10 marla plot size is 35×65 and 1 kanal plot size is 50×90. Most of the plots have all dues paid, but some files are still selling in the market at lower prices which have pending development charges. Those files do not have any plot numbers, but most of the people buy such files for quick gain after the ballot.

5 marla plot prices range around 12 to 15+ lacs, 10 marla plots range around 18 to 25+ lacs, and 1 kanal plots range around 25 to 40+ lacs. Non-developed plots and files are still cheaper, while developed plots with possession letter have higher prices. If you take a comparative view of prices in adjoining housing schemes, you will find that there is still much profit potential in this housing scheme.

    That is all bullshit. I went to Pakistan in December 2018, visited the Society on the 2nd of January 2018, nothing has been done. No Development work was in progress, an incomplete Mosque stand on the right of Society office in the same shape I saw in 2016. No roads, no water tanks, no plotting nothing of the sort. All lies, all fraud and all bullshit.
