Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is once again trusted with another government expansion plan as Capital Development Authority (CDA) approved the expansion of the Islamabad Highway. The work on the expansion will be completed by FWO from Koral to Rawat.
The decision was made in the last Board Meeting of CDA on Saturday 21st May 2022. It was decided in the meeting that the work will be conducted under the government’s arrangements and this is the reason that it was handed over to the FWO.
Since the CDA budget is in surplus, therefore, they have made arrangements to complete this long-overdue project that will benefit the residents of the Twin Cities. It has been observed that individual interference will not bore any fruit and the project must be completed in one go by a government contractor.
CDA is also working on two new projects of transportation i.e., Blue Line and Green Line. Blue Line will resolve the matters of quality public transportation from Koral to PIMS, and Green Line will benefit the people traveling from Bara Kahu to PIMS.
FWO is also constructing Nelore Heights with 2,000 apartments and they have plans to offer them to the public. This will not only generate revenue but will also solve the increased housing needs of the city.
CDA is also looking at the abandoned sites in the Margalla retreat and looking forward to offering them to the public. For now, they have plans to complete the work on the Islamabad Highway expansion as soon as possible.
