ICT Directs Cooperative Societies to Change Names of Housing Schemes

Islamabad Capital Territory Administration has circulated a directive in regard to amendment in by-laws cooperatives societies department of ICT. The new amendment pertains to certain cooperative housing schemes using names of any ministry, government department, autonomous body, statutory body or any entity established through the Construction of Islamabad Republic of Pakistan 1973. 

As per the directive, such cooperative societies which are registered under ICT and use the name of any of above-mentioned bodies/institutions must change their names within 3 weeks of this order through AGMs.

In simple words, societies such as Ministry of Interior Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme, Cabinet Division Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme, Supreme Court Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme, Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme etc, will have to change the name of their societies within next 3 weeks.
