Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) is planning to build 19000 flats/apartments in Chaklala Scheme 3, Rawalpindi; and Mauve Area, Sector G-13 Islamabad. FGEHF has already built several standard low-rise apartments in Sector G-11 Islamabad, moreover a high-rise project “Lifestyle Residency” is currently under construction in Sector G-13/1.
According to Director General FGEHF Mr. Waseem Ahmed Bajwa, the foundation will build 12500 apartments for government employees on 508 kanals of land in Chaklala Scheme 3, Rawalpindi. Similarly, 7000 apartments will be built on 7 acres of land in Mauve area, Sector G-13, Islamabad.
The existing members of FGEHF Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme Phase 2 and FGEHF Thalian Housing Scheme who have paid atleast 1 installment will be given priority for allotment of these apartments. There are approximately 17000 members in both schemes who are likely to be adjusted in these apartments. Both above-mentioned housing schemes have been dropped by the housing foundation due to certain reasons.
Considering the available land area, and the number of planned apartments, we can expect high-rise apartment projects on both sites. Mauve Area is not currently planned to have high-rise structures, however, due to government’s vision of vertical expansion of the city, you can expect many high-rise projects across Islamabad in near future.
