The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that it will now review and approve the layout plans (LOPs) of housing schemes in the city. This move is expected to bring much-needed regulation to the housing sector and ensure that all new developments comply with the city’s building codes and regulations.
The CDA’s decision to review and approve the layout plans of housing schemes is a significant development for the real estate sector in Islamabad. It will help ensure that all new developments are built in compliance with the city’s building codes and regulations, which will improve the safety and quality of the housing schemes.
The CDA’s role in reviewing and approving the layout plans of housing schemes will also help prevent the construction of illegal and unauthorized housing schemes in the city. This will help address the issue of illegal housing schemes, which have become a major problem in Islamabad over the years.
The planning wing of CDA was responsible to review the revised Layouts (LOPs) of housing projects. Chairman Secretariat took notice of the approvals reviews and the CDA Planning Wing has been restricted. Now the planning wing cannot approve the revised layout plans without approval from the CDA Board.
A letter was written by Chairman Secretariat to CDA, mentioning that the final decision of approval of revised LOPs will be taken by CDA Board. Therefore, Planning Wing should present the approvals in front of the CDA Board for necessary changes, amendments, and final approval.
This move will also help improve the quality of housing schemes in the city and ensure that residents have access to safe and secure housing. The CDA’s role in reviewing and approving the layout plans of housing schemes will help address the issue of illegal and unauthorized housing schemes in the city, which will ultimately benefit the residents of Islamabad.
It also came to the notice of CDA, that multiple housing projects acquired approved LOPs from the authority and sold plots to customers, without obtaining the No Objection Certificate (NOC). Furthermore, developers of different housing societies sold the land areas specified for amenities like parks, open spaces, mosques, and similar areas.
