CDA Recovers 1700 Kanal Land in I-12

Capital Development Authority (CDA) initiated a grand anti-encroachment operation in different areas of Islamabad to recover land that was illegally owned by people. The operation has started to give fruit as CDA has already recovered around 700 Kanal land from illegal grabbing in Sector I-12 Islamabad. Moreover, this retrieval was done in 2 days during the anti-encroachment operation in the mentioned sector.

CDA Chairman, Anwar ul Haq, ordered a comprehensive operation against illegal constructions and land grabbing in different areas of Islamabad. Hence, the authority launched an operation in collaboration with law enforcement authorities in Sector I-12 and surrounding areas of NUST University. It had come to notice of CDA, that illegal Afghan settlements are present here over a large land area.

According to the officials, a large number of heavy machines were deployed to carry out the operation and demolish illegal structures. As a result, numerous animal sheds, buildings, etc. were demolished and the land was retrieved. According to the report, almost 700 Kanal of land was recovered and handed over to the development authorities for ongoing projects.

Aside from this, the operation was also spread to far-off areas of Islamabad and actions were taken against illegal constructions and encroachments on Margalla Town, Murree Road, Mandi Mor, and Simly Dam Road. The authority removed sheds and stalls from the sides of roads and cleared public passages. Furthermore, goods were also seized by the authorities during this operation.

Moreover, notices were also issued to building owners, whose buildings and structures did not follow the CDA Building Codes. Furthermore, the operation continues and necessary steps are being taken to take back the land grabbed illegally in different areas of Islamabad. Furthermore, violations are being filed against building owners who are not following the directions of the Building Control Authority.
