Islamabad Expressway Project: CDA Receives Bids from Construction Firms

Capital Development Authority (CDA) published the tender to invite construction firms to submission of bids for the Islamabad Expressway project on 10 June 2022. CDA has received bids for this project from various government sector construction firms. Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and National Logistics Cell (NLC) have submitted the bids for Islamabad Expressway project.  According to a reliable news source, CDA plans to expand Islamabad Expressway 7 Km further from PWD to G.T Road.

The details of bids submitted by FWO and NLC are as follows:

  • National Logistics Cell submitted a bid of PKR 11.7 billion for this project.
  • Frontier Works Organization has submitted a bid of PKR 10.9 to CDA for the expansion of Islamabad Expressway.

As of now, CDA’s Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC) is emphasizing FWO’s bid and evaluating it further. CDA has directed FWO to submit the details of their bid in a formal meeting. CDA will issue work orders once the bid is approved by the concerned department. CDA has proposed an 18-month timeline for the completion of Islamabad Expressway Expansion project.

The construction of Sohan Bridge is also a part of this expansion. Moreover, four lanes extension is planned for Islamabad Expressway. Keep in mind that CDA Board approved the development of this project through a government contractor.
