RDA Demands 1.18 Trillion for Infrastructure, shares development plan

Rawalpindi Development Authority Development Plan

The annual Development Plan (ADP) is a yearly growth program that deals with the infrastructural development of Rawalpindi. Recently, Rawalpindi Development Authority revealed the new development plan under ADP for the years 2022 and 2023.

According to the news, RDA requires the funds of 1.18 Trillion to continue and complete the ongoing projects under ADP. Rawalpindi Development Authority further revealed the project that needs funding and they are as follows:

  • Nullah Leh
  • Flood Channel Project Phase 1
  • RDA Complex Project
  • Signal Free Marir Chowk and Liaqat Bagh Project
  • RDA Parking Plaza
  • Rawalpindi Ring Road

Other than these mainstream projects the authority also shared the details of the project like Leh Expressway land acquisition, establishing a project-management section, and Katchery Chowk. RDA has demanded separate funds including 1.40 Billion for the existing and 1.18 Trillion for the new projects.

Following is the usage of funds in different development sectors

Rawalpindi Ring Road development requires about 26,969.70 million, out of which 1200 million will be reserved for the coming year.

  • 4,759.540 required for remolding of Katchery Chowk
  • RDA requires 95 million to establish a Project Management Unit
  • 10 million is required for the installation of lights in CCB’s wards 1 to ward 6.
  • 24.969 million is required for land acquisition of Ring Road and Flood Channels.

Other expenses include the construction of Leh Expressway, signal-free Liaqat Bagh and Marir Chowk, RDA Parking Plaza, and other projects under the Annual Development Program.
