Rawalpindi Ring Road Latest Updates: FWO Formally Starts Work

Rawalpindi Ring Road Work Start Formally

The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has started working on the Rawalpindi Ring Road Project. This project is 38.3 KMs long and it is expected to be completed in the next 2 years.

It is going to be a six-lane project that will resolve the problem of traffic congestion in the Twin Cities. The commute times are expected to be reduced by half once this project is completed and functional.

The location of this project is ideal for the new housing societies as the project will help them reduce their commute times to the center of the city. This will also bring more economic activity to the Twin Cities.

A total of 8,992 Kanals of land has been acquired for this project and a land acquisition grant of PKR 5.90 billion has been allotted by the government. This acquired land was a major milestone in the development and planning phase of the project.

The government has taken an initiative to further enhance the economic activity of the country by setting up an industrial sector alongside Ring Road.  This will bring prosperity to the city as more job opportunities will also be created with this project.

The project is expected to cost PKR 22.8 billion and the complete project will take nearly 2 years. FWO was the only organization to bid PKR 300 million less than the estimated cost.

The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has now formally started the work on this project and they expect it to be completed within the estimated time. Once operational, it would not only benefit housing projects but also the economic zones as well.
