Mega Projects worth 4 Billion Approved by PDWP

News: According to the latest news, PDWP (Punjab Provincial Development Working Party) approved 4 mega projects worth Billions on 4th January 2022.

The annual meeting of the Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) was held on Wednesday, 4th January 2023, where 4 mega projects were proposed. After careful analysis and consideration, all of these projects were approved by Dr. Wasif Khursheed, who is the chairman Planning and Development Board.

According to a news source, this meeting was held to guide the officials with the development progress of the ongoing project in Punjab. Dr. Wasif advised the officials of PDWP to speed up the ongoing developments and complete them as early as possible. The approved projects have a cost of PKR 3.861 Billion in total.

Following are the details of projects that were approved in this meeting:

  • The first project is the rehabilitation of old and faulty construction machinery including bulldozers, trucks, cranes, etc. The budget for this project is PKR 1,505 Billion; this machinery will be renewed and used to ensure food security across Punjab.
  • The development of a link road and bridge to the parking of Lahore High Court will be completed with an estimated cost of PKR 1.314 Billion.
  • PKR 558.168 million has been specified by PDWP for the rehabilitation of houses and plazas in the Canal Colony Sulemanki Barrage.
  • Finally, a budget of PKR 483.330 million has been reserved for the development of a state-of-the-art Judicial Complex in Toba Tek Singh.

The present Punjab Government has started plenty of mega-development projects in different cities of Punjab as of now. Projects worth 249 Billion have been started in the first six months of the Punjab Government’s tenure.
