Commercial Use of Residential Buildings: CDA Initiates Legal Action

Under the direction of CDA Chairman, Mr. Maroof Afzal, the authority is all set to initiate legal action against the commercial use of residential buildings in all sector of Islamabad.

A meeting was held on Wednesday at CDA headquarter which was attended by attended by Member Planning & Design CDA, DC Islamabad, DIG Operations and SSP Islamabad Police,  Director Land and acting Director Enforcement. Detailed strategy was discussed in the meeting in order to check non-conforming use of commercial property and encroachments which are violation of CDA by-laws. The authority further says it will ensure non-recurrence of this non-conforming use and encroachments in coordination with District Administration and Islamabad Police.

CDA has already issued 2000 notices to violators of building by-laws and they have been warned of stringent action against non-compliance. DC Islamabad and SSP Islamabad Police have reassured their assistance to CDA for the enforcement of CDA Building By-Laws. Authorities said that Islamabad is a well planned city, and they will take every possible action in order to maintain its beauty and individuality.

The Deputy Commissioner CDA has been directed to take legal against those violators who continue their illegal activities even after notices have been served to them in order to ensure implementation of CDA Building By-Laws.
