CDA to Conduct Operation Against Land Mafia in Sector G-12 Islamabad
CDA has finally decided to initiate strong operation against the land mafia in Sector G-12 Islamabad. Sector G-12 is also known as “Mehrabadi” where thousands of commercial plazas, shops, marriage halls, institutes etc are built illegally and CDA has not been able to vacate the area despite various attempts.
According to a newspaper report published in Daily Jang recently, CDA has finally decided to start stringent operation against the land mafia, who have illegally occupied the green belt and buffer zone land along the Kashmir Highway in Sector G-12, and built marriage halls, marquees, property offices, and other commercial buildings where dozens of shops are functioning.
The operation is expected to be conducted on 20th March, 2018. CDA has sought assistance from IG police as well as DG rangers to carry out this operation against the land mafia. Earlier, CDA had to face strong resistance from this land mafia which even involved gun shots that wounded CDA employees severely. Therefore, this grand operation will be conducted with full force backed by rangers and police.
