regulations for zone 3

News: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to change the regulations for Zone 3, Islamabad. For this purpose, the administrative authority has forwarded the summary of changes in Zone 3 to the federal government. The changes will be implemented after formal approval from a committee of the federal government.

Capital Development Authority had divided Islamabad into different zones; this was done to improve the development and overall appearance of the federal capital. According to a news source, CDA already had plans to change the regulation of Zone 3 but it was delayed due to ongoing political and economic instability in the country.

However, now Capital Development Authority (CDA) has created a complete summary of the changes in the regulations for Zone 3 of Islamabad. According to the summary, two options are presented in front of the committee created by the federal government.

The two options presented by CDA are as follows:

  • The federal government should accept and approve the proposed changes by the committee led by Chairman CDA.
  • The second option is that government creates a commission lead by a judge and supported by a technical team. They will check the proposal and go through the changes and suggest changes and/or accept the proposal within 15 working days.

Capital Development Authority has proposed the following changes in the summary:

  • The grey areas of Zone 3, which are not a part of Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) or other zones should be constituted within a boundary
  • Declaration of the villages and rural areas that are present on hills close to Margalla Hills as model villages. Moreover, CDA also suggests retaining existing zones.
  • Zone 1 should be extended to the free land area between Sectors F-6 and C-16.
  • The private land area in Bhara Kahu should also be added to Zone 4.

Also note that the federal government has already created a committee for the regulation of Zone 3, Islamabad. This committee will use the rights decelerated by the government to make changes in the land and resolve the conflicts of the general public that owns land at the boundary of Margalla Hills National Park.
