CDA Employees are Ineligible for Government Houses: Estate Office Islamabad

CDA Employees are Ineligible for Government Houses

News: The Estate Office of Islamabad briefed the National Assembly Standing Committee about the ineligibility of CDA Employees regarding government houses allocation. The officials of the Estate Office told the Standing Committee that the Employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) are not eligible for residential properties as per their policies. The reason behind this statement is that Capital Development Authority has a network of accommodations for employees.

This matter came under discussion in the 24th committee of the lower house of Parliament that was led by MNA Junaid Anwar Chaudhry. The members of this meeting were briefed by Director-General’s Estate Office. He shared the details of allotments of Sector G-9 and G-10 Islamabad; he also shared the category-wise waiting list of the allotments in the mentioned sectors.

In the past, Islamabad High Court was informed by the Ministry of Housing and Works that almost 1100 CDA offices are illegally residing in the government houses that are specified for the employees of different ministries and government institutes by Estate Office Islamabad.

The employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) are declared ineligible by the Estate Office because the civic agency has its provision of residences. The Estate Office presented the matter in front of lawmakers and requested them to solve this issue as soon as possible. These residences will be specified to the officers and employees of different ministries, as per the law.

Aside from this, different government institutions including FGEHA, Pak-PWD, and National Construction Limited (NCL) also presented different matters in front of the committee including:

  • FGEHA briefed the committee about the current status of different projects and the resolution of issues related to the ongoing project.
  • Similarly, Pak-PWD informed the committee about the usage of SAP funds for the year 2022-2023.
  • National Construction Limited (NCL) briefed the NA Standing Committee about the progress of the ongoing project in different cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
