CDA Allows Construction of Commercial Buildings along the Srinagar Highway

CDA Allows Construction of Commercial Buildings along the Srinagar Highway

News: The renovation and widening of Srinagar Highway have entered the final stages of development. CDA received a large number of requests from different companies to allow the construction of commercial buildings along the Srinagar Highway. Capital Development Authority Planning Wing has allowed the development of commercial buildings on one side of Srinagar Highway. This news was reported by an authentic news source.

CDA started the renovation and stretching of the Srinagar Highway, previously known as the Kashmir Highway according to Islamabad’s master plan of 1960. Srinagar Highway will be stretched to almost 1200 feet, according to CDA officials. For this purpose, the authority has acquired land in major areas of the federal capital. CDA has decided to allot the land on the sides of Srinagar Highway to private and government contractors for the development of commercial buildings and a plaza. Contrary to the 1960s master plan, the right side of Srinagar Highway in Zone-2 will be allotted for the construction of commercial buildings.

Furthermore, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has also decided not to acquire the land in the reaming right-side area of the highway as it has allowed the development of buildings in Sector G-16 and Sector G-17. The board of the Capital Development Authority took this decision and informed all the related authorities and government bodies.

The land area on the right side of this major road is divided into commercial plots. Furthermore, Capital Development has also fixed the price of commercial plots alongside Srinagar Highway; interested parties will have to pay 7,500 per square foot against the commercial plots. Moreover, the cost of land conversion will also be received from the purchasers.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials have also informed the Gazette of Pakistan of this change in the master plan of Islamabad City.
