Despite all the public uproar and organized protests against imposition of 35% development charges on old BTK properties, Bahria Town Karachi has not budged on its brutal decision. The development charges have been added to the account statements of all old files, which are payable in 20 quarterly installments over a period of 5 years.
First installment of development charges is due from 15th of February 2020. As per policy of Bahria Town, a member must deposit an installment on or before the given deadline, otherwise surcharge is added on daily basis.
Bahria Town Karachi has rolled out a notice regarding extension in deadline of first installment of development charges. As majority of members still resist these charges, and unwilling to pay anything in the name of development charges, Bahria Town has extended the deadline from 15th of February to 15th of March 2020.
As per the notice, members can now pay their installment by March 15, 2020 without incurring any surcharge. After the given deadline, surcharge will be applied as per the policy.
