Katchery Chowk Rawalpindi Remodeling Construction Progress

The Katchery Chowk remodeling project, a significant Rs 14 billion infrastructure initiative, is progressing rapidly toward its new completion deadline of April 30, 2026. As of early February 2026, over 45% of the project has been completed. Work is proceeding in triple shifts around the clock to ensure the structural work is finished before Eidul Fitr.
​Key structural achievements include the completion of piling work and guide beams at Kutchery Chowk, Jinnah Park, and the Iftikhar Janjua Underpasses. Additionally, 95% of the retaining walls are now finished, and shuttering for the flyovers has entered its final phase. Starting February 1, authorities partially opened motorcycle lanes to alleviate the immense traffic pressure at this junction, which handles over 200,000 vehicles daily. This signal-free corridor will eventually link major arteries like GT Road and Rashid Minhas Road, drastically reducing congestion for Rawalpindi residents.
