FIA to Conduct Forensic Audit of Cooperative Housing Schemes in Islamabad

FIA

Federal Investigation Agency has been directed by the Supreme Court to conduct forensic audit of all cooperative housing schemes in Islamabad. FIA has sought all relevant details about registered cooperative housing schemes which fall under the jurisdiction of CDA.

There are more than 30 registered cooperative housing schemes operating in Islamabad. FIA has requested CDA to provide details on housing schemes including layout plan, mortgaged land in the name of CDA, NOC, Engineering Design and any reported violation of the layout plan.

This comprehensive probe into the matters of cooperative housing schemes is much needed today because some of the schemes have failed to deliver as per the plan or even got involved in fraud. We have example of SECHS (soan garden), FECHS (Jinnah Gardens), MIECHS (G-16), Supreme Court Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme (G-17) and Ministry of Commerce (E-19) etc where the societies have failed to deliver.

We are hoping that this detailed forensic audit will help government authorities to take appropriate action against those societies which sold plots to general public but couldn’t deliver as promised.
