Capital Development Authority has decided to develop a new blue area in the green belt adjacent to Kashmir Highway. This new commercial area will most probably be located between sector H-11/2, H-16 and middle strip of Kashmir Highway. CDA will have to amend the master plan of Islamabad as the current master plan doesn’t have any provision of such development on Kashmir Highway.
Extension of Blue Area has been pending for past many years due to which commercial activities cannot be extended in the capital city. This development is also necessary in order to stop the non-conforming use of residential properties as many offices, schools, clinics, guest houses, beauty parlors and furniture shops are currently operating in residential areas of Islamabad.
