CDA Board Approves the Revision of Islamabad Master Plan

CDA Board has approved the proposal to make significant changes the master plan of Islamabad. The decision to revise the master plan was taken in a meeting presided by CDA Chairman Mr. Usman Akhtar Bajwa on Wednesday, 9th May 2018. CDA will hire a consultant firm to work out the technical aspects of the changes.

Some of the major changes proposed and agreed in the meeting are mentioned below:

1- Minimum land required for multi-level high rise buildings will be 20 kanals.

2- Blue Area will be extended till Sector E-11.

3- Layout plan of 2 KM commercial land along Sector E-11 was approved.

4- 245 Kanals of Land in Kuri at Mouza Ghora Bagh will be allocated to an intelligence agency.

There was no discussion about extension of ICT limits to new Islamabad Airport or creation of new sectors up to new Islamabad Airport including D18, E18, E19, G19, H19, etc. The revision is mainly focused on extending the blue area strip to Sector E-11, and use the commercial land opposite to the E-11 Marquees for major commercial projects.
